About Erica
Growing up I was always surrounded by seniors. Whether it was a family dinner, special occasion, or just being picked up from school, my great aunts and grandparents were always there to lend a hand. They were always there for me when I needed them and they taught me so much about life, including impeccable table manners! Haha! As a result of these experiences, I always knew that I wanted to work with seniors and help them live their best and most fulfilling lives possible.
At the age of 19, I was given the opportunity to do just that when the health of both my great aunts began to deteriorate and they needed my help. So what began as helping aging family members, soon turned into a deep passion for the senior community and inspired me to follow a career in Recreational Therapy.
Now with almost 20 years of experience in the field (along with a diploma in Gerontology-based Therapeutic Recreation and a Dementia Care Provider certification), I have a profound understanding of the emotional, intellectual, physical and financial needs of seniors and their families. My years of experience range from home care, adult day programs, Independent & Assisted Living, as well as Long-Term care. All of this has opened my eyes to the wide array of stimulating environments for seniors to thrive in.
Knowing that there are many fears and misconceptions about what it means to live in a Retirement Community, I have made it my mission to help families discover a new way of Retirement living. Whether you are looking for freedom from household chores and the constant upkeep of a house, or require a bit of assistance with certain activities of daily living, or maybe you are needing to place a loved one into Long-Term Care; whatever it may be, Waypoint is here to help lighten the load and guide you through this journey.
With a compassionate understanding of the emotional stress and challenges a big change like this can have on both the senior and their loved ones, Jenn & I have created a personalized retirement living concierge service to help older adults navigate through a wide variety of retirement living options and resources, so that they can choose the perfect environment for themselves or their aging loved one with ease. There are so many options out there, sometimes it is difficult to know where to even begin.
Just think of us as your personal GPS to retirement living!

About Jenn
Growing up I had an incredible bond with my grandparents. It was a relationship built on trust, honesty, kindness, and of course unconditional love. I had so much respect for their wisdom and accomplishments, I never made a big decision without seeking their advice- being with them was my happy place!
In August 2003 I helped my grandma move into an Independent Retirement Community. she had lived on her own for almost 25 years, so making this change was very emotional and difficult for her. During this transition, I made it a priority to stop in every evening after work. With each passing week, I started to notice this amazing change in her. She was happier, more confident and definitely more social. Watching my grandma meet new people and enjoy life again was the reason I became a Recreation Coordinator. I just knew I wanted to enrich the lives of seniors, and help them live their best life possible.
Now after nearly 20 years from my first experience in a Retirement Community, I have transitioned from volunteer to Recreation Coordinator, and am now currently in the final stages of obtaining my Elder Planning Counsellor Certificate. I know first hand how stressful and challenging a big change can be, I have been a part of welcoming new residents to Retirement Communities for more than 11 years, so I know just how important finding the right community is. There are so many options out there and most of us don't even know where to begin. The whole process is overwhelming for everyone involved, that is why I want to use my extensive knowledge and resources to help you and your family navigate your next chapter.
